ATLANTA, Georgia — Dr. Jackie Walters releases her all-new photo book showcasing an array of breast cancer survivors, caregivers, and advocates baring their bodies in an act of self-love and empowerment.
Perfect Imperfections, by two-time breast cancer survivor and award-winning OBGYN Dr. Jackie Walters, is a stunning pictorial of strength and courage that illustrates the beauty of womanhood in all of its resilient, powerful glory. With photography by DeWayne Rogers, Perfect Imperfections features a diverse group of influencers, including sisters Tamar and Towanda Braxton; “Married to Medicine” stars Dr. Heavenly Kimes, Quad Webb-Lunceford, Dr. Simone Whitmore and Toya Bush-Harris; activist Paulette Leaphart; former ABC host Dr. Tiffanie Davis Henry; tv and radio personalities Ebony Steele and Sasha tha Diva; broadcast journalist Jaquitta Williams and Atlanta Municipal Court Judge Terrinee Gundy.
The goal of Perfect Imperfections is to encourage breast cancer warriors to celebrate their bodies and love their scars, wounds, and curves.
“This book allows people to look at the lives of women who have been on the same journey and understand that whatever your perfect imperfection is, it’s yours,” says Dr. Jackie. “I asked supporters of breast cancer survivors to participate as well because as the stats reveal, 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. These supporters represent the “9” because with only one phone call, they too could become that “1.”
Partial proceeds from the book will benefit the 50 Shades of Pink Foundation, a non-profit founded by Dr. Jackie in 2013 that promotes holistic well-being by focusing on the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals affected by breast cancer.
