LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — Former football legend O.J. Simpson is now a free man after serving nine years for a botched hotel room heist in Las Vegas. Simpson was released at 12:08 a.m. PT on Sunday from Lovelock Correctional Center in northern Nevada.
The department released video on social media of Simpson as he left, wearing a ball cap, denim jacket, jeans and white tennis shoes.
The 70-year-old Simpson gains his freedom after being granted parole at a hearing in July. He will face restrictions — up to five years of parole supervision.
