AUBURN, Alabama — The 10th-ranked Auburn Tigers defense suffocated the No.1 Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday night for a 40-17 victory. The Tigers outgained Georgia 488-230 in total yards while recording four sacks on defense.
Kerryon Johnson rushed for 167 yards and caught a 55-yard touchdown pass from Jarrett Stidham – who finished with 16-of-23 for 214 passing yards and three touchdowns. The victory keeps the Tigers (8-2, 6-1 Southeastern Conference) in playoff contention.

The Bulldogs Jake Fromm was 13-of-28 passing for 184 yards and a late touchdown pass. Georgia hosts Kentucky Saturday in its final SEC game. The Bulldogs (9-1, 6-1) came in with the top spot in the playoff rankings and could get a rematch if Auburn can beat No. 1 Alabama in two weeks.
