INDIANAPOLIS — The Cleveland Cavaliers point guard, George Hill, received his degree from the School of Liberal Arts from IUPUI in Indianapolis while his teammates prepared forGame 1 of the Eastern Conference finals against Boston.
“He’s been great,” Lue said. “Just coming into Game 7 versus Indiana, where he hadn’t played in three-plus games, to come out and play the half of basketball that he played, he was tremendous. So, just his experience of being in the playoffs, being in the Eastern Conference finals when he played for Indiana, playing against the Miami teams, he knows what it’s about.
“It’s great having a veteran like that on the team.”

IUPUI chancellor Nassar Paydar called Hill a role model for others who want to achieve their dreams.
“George Hill is a role model for many people to follow,” Paydar said. “He is a story of commitment and persistence. What he has done has moved me and many others to come back and participate in the ceremony, to be role models, to let people know you can do anything if you put your mind to. Education is so important for prosperity of people and to get skills.”
