ATLANTA, Georgia — Renowned celebrity chef, Carlos Brown, has been named the new Executive Chef at Atlanta’s premier private membership club The Gathering Spot. Chef Carlos Brown is most known as the go-to culinary guru for high profile clients including – Oprah Winfrey, Shaquille O’Neal, Jim Carey, Danny Glover, Viola Davis, Maxine Waters and many more.
He will be bringing his Charleston roots and Cajun flare to the Gathering Spots full service menu. The Gathering Spots members can expect a new seasonal menu of true ‘Gullah’ cuisine with an upscale approach. Chef Carlos is anticipated to add to the club’s strong culinary foundation and take the dining experience for all members and guests at The Gathering Spot to new heights.

Recently, he kicked off the launch of his Gullah on the Go food truck stationed near downtown Atlanta. “food that makes your face smile.” The menu features savory items including: his award-winning White Cheddar Shrimp and Grits with Lump Crab Beurre Blanc Sauce; Seafood Etouffee with Cajun Rice; Gullah Burger; Shrimp Po’ Boy with Peach Jalapeno Cole Slaw; Cajun Truffle Fries; Gullah Chicken Sandwich; Fried Green Tomatoes with Cajun Remoulade Sauce; Cheesesteak with Gullah Sauce; Refreshing Pineapple Tea; and much more.
“I’m very grateful for my Charleston roots where I was born and raised. My Gullah culture is sometimes a forgotten art,” said Chef Carlos. “Anyone can prepare a meal, but it takes a special person to prepare an experience. When people explore my cuisine, I want them to feel the gift of love. I have a photo of my grandmother in my wallet that I smile at when I’m cooking. I make sure that all of that love, grace, peace and joy that I received from her and my mother comes through in every dish.”
