LOS ANGELES, California — Jemele Hill “will narrate LeBron James’ basketball documentary Shut Up and Dribble, which bows in November on Showtime. The three-part series is directed by Gotham Chopra.
The doc will also include interviews with Charles Barkley, Jay Z, Justin Timberlake and more.
Hill left ESPN where she earned stardom for her honesty while co-starring with Michael Smith as the first all-Black anchor team on “SportsCenter.”
The title of the documentary was inspired by the hateful Laura Ingraham telling NBA players like James to “shut up and dribble.”
Hill captured the National Black Journalist of The Year Award in a ceremony held in her hometown of Detroit, Michigan. Detroit’s Mumford High School, her alma mater, also honored her by dedicating the auditorium in her name.
Appreciate the opportunity. Although I don’t have hops, this is quite the alley oop ✊🏾 https://t.co/w37uEBaedr
