NEW YORK, New York — Airbnb passed an important milestone. According to Greg Greeley, President of Homes — Airbnb has surpassed 400 million guest arrivals to date.
Greeley made the announcement while speaking at the Skift global travel conference in New York this past week.
The milestone was reached on August 26, the same month that Airbnb recorded its largest single night in history with 3.5M guest arrivals taking place on August 11.
He also shared updates on the progress of Airbnb Plus — which launched earlier this year. Airbnb Plus is a new tier of homes that have been inspected and verified in person for quality and comfort.
Since February, Airbnb has tripled the number of cities Airbnb Plus is available in and just last week launched in Bali, Auckland and Athens. Airbnb Plus is now available in 34 cities worldwide.
Success of Airbnb For Work
Another important growth driver has been the success of Airbnb for Work, recently relaunched to expand from business travel to also include team-building with Airbnb Experiences, homes on Airbnb for offsites and meetings, and new options for people relocating for work. As revealed earlier this month, Airbnb for Work bookings tripled from 2015 to 2016, and then tripled again from 2016 to 2017. There are now more than 700,000 companies using Airbnb for Work, 275,000 of them directly engaged with Airbnb to help manage their travel.
