LOS ANGELES, California — Head coach Luke Walton recorded his second victory of the season as the LA Lakers improve to 2-3 after topping the Denver Nuggets 121-114 on Thursday night.
King James recorded his first triple-double in the Purple and Gold with 28 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds while Laker great Kobe Bryant sat courtside to catch the show. Lebron recieved the Offseason NBA Cares Community Assist Award before the game.
The Lakers went on a 15-2 run with six minutes left to play to close the gap, before eventually pulling off the win.
Kyle Kuzma scored 22 points and JaVale McGee added 21. Lonzo Ball tallied 12 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Lance Stephenson chipped in 12 points of his own for a balanced attack.

Nikola Jokic scored 24 points for the Nuggets. Jamal Murray scored 22 points and Monte Morris had 20.
The Lakers played their third straight game without suspended starters Brandon Ingram and Rajon Rondo.
Rondo can return Saturday in San Antonio.
