STOCKHOLM, Sweden — Klarna, a global tech bank whose mission is to make payments and shopping as smoooth as possible — linked up with Snoop Dogg for its latest commercial.
Snoop wrote on social media: “Here I am. Smoooth Dogg. This is a big project for me as an investor in Swedish payment provider @klarna. It’s time we change the game”
Klarna was founded in 2005 in Stockholm, Sweden with the aim of making it easier for people to shop online as smoooth as possible. It is now one of Europe’s largest banks and is providing payment solutions for 60 million consumers across 100,000 merchants in 14 countries.
Klarna offers direct payments, pay after delivery options and instalment plans in a smooth one-click purchase experience that lets consumers pay when and how they prefer to.
Klarna is backed by investors such as Sequoia Capital, Bestseller, Permira, Visa and Atomico. The Swedish financial technology giant valued at $2.5 billion last year.
Snoop Dogg’s deal, which is a secondary investment for an undisclosed amount, will make him the face of Klarna’s latest marketing campaign, changing his name to Smoooth Dog.
