NEW YORK, New York — Sixteen year-old, Kyle ‘Bugha’ Giersdorf, took home the $3 million grand prize for individual players — as Fortnite held its first-ever massive sporting event in New York’s Arthur Ashe tennis stadium.
The prize is the largest-ever payout for a single player in an esports tournament.
In second place, 24-year-old Harrison “Psalm” Chang — a former professional Heroes of the Storm player — won $1.8 million.
Shane “Epikwhale” Cotton finished third, winning $1.2 million and from Redondo Beach, California — Nate “Kreo” Kou, 18, from Parkland, Florida, won $1.05 million with a fourth place result.
