NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana — The LSU Tigers capped off their undefeated season with a dominating 42-25 performance and win over No. 3 and defending national champion Clemson on Monday night in front of 76,885 fans at the Superdome.
LSU snapped Clemson’s 29-game winning streak, becoming just the second team in the past 120 seasons to win 15 games with the 45th President of the United States Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trunp in attendance.

uarterback Joe Burrow broke the NCAA FBS single-season records for touchdown passes and touchdowns. He finished the night with five touchdown passes for 463 yards, completing 31-of-49 passes and rushing for another.
“He’s one of the greatest players in LSU history,” Tigers coach Ed Orgeron said. “He’s done so much for the state of Louisiana and LSU. We are so grateful to Joe Burrow.”
The Heisman Trophy winner holds school and SEC records for passing touchdowns and passing yards. He’s the only player in SEC history to throw for both 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns. He far exceeded those marks with 5,671 yards and 60 scores.
He led the Tigers (15-0) to their first national title since 2007 and fourth overall.
