Jay Z and Kanye West Watch The Throne Tour Sweden

STOCKHOLM –

The Watch The Throne Tour made a stop in Sweden this past week in a leg of it’s European performances and it by far exemplified more than just two of hip hop’s most successful artist gathering on a stage to perform an ensemble of their hit records.

It exonerated the penetration of an untold story of which has been far less traveled by many into the world of the known. Deeply connecting a hip hop culture around the world to the world of outsiders emotionally economically, intellectually, and musically while stretching the boundaries of its potential reach for a genre of music that started in 1970′s.

With no opening act needed, Jay-Z and Kanye West entered Globen Arena(Stockholm,Sweden)on May 29th on split stages to deliver that story to a crowd of 13,997 fans as the two mega stars set out to make another historical milestone for the world of hip hop.

The atmosphere unlike any other, was perfect as they opened up with their bragadocios hit single H.A.M. from their Watch The Throne album that was released in August 2011.

Jay-Z and Kanye West unselfishly shared the spotlight, never overshadowing one another, went on to perform hit songs from the album such as, “Otis,” “Who Gone Stop Me,” “Welcome To The Jungle,”  “What You Need,”and “Niggas In Paris” which has grown into a fan favorite around the world.

Individually, they both performed hits from their very own solo albums, but just enough giving the packed arena a well balanced insight of the culture of hip hop as Jay- Z led with ” Where I’m From” featured off of his In My Lifetime Volume 1. album.

He would also perform, “New York State Of Mind,” “Hard Knock Life,” “H to the Izzo,” “On To The Next One” and “99 Problems.”

They cleverly displayed their individual differences in personalities  as Kanye West would play off of his mentor’s successful connection by adding in a slew of his very own hits on the crowd such as “Gold Digger,” “Heartless,” “Runaway,” and “Stronger.”

The interplay between the two was remarkable.

The connection Jay-Z and Kanye West made with their collective musical genius added another chapter for that untold story that has been far less traveled by many around the globe for an evolving hip hop genre. This show is a must see.
