NBAF@Centennial Olympic Park: Presented by The Coca-Cola Company, July 12th-15th

ATLANTA – Shoppers will find unique items at the International Marketplace, July 12-15, with over 100 vendors, artists and artisans from around the world, offering everything from beautifully woven fabrics and clothing to skillfully hand crafted jewelry, wood-carved sculptures and supple leather goods.

NBAF presents Children’s Education Village – Destination Afrika And Beyond, July 13th – 15 

Friday, July 13, 10 AM – 4 PM, for Camps and Groups Only, pre-registration is required. Saturday-Sunday, July 14-15, 12 Noon – 4 PM, Free and Open to the Public
Children and their families will explore Destination Africa and Beyond at NBAF’s internationally acclaimed Children’s Education Village through hands-on activities and interactive experiences.  Storyteller  HYPERLINK “http://mamakoku.com/favicon.ico” Mama Koku will tell a story as ancient as Timbuktu.  Children can see inside an Ndebele house and meet a Zulu “warrior”.

The NBAF Music Stage @ Centennial Olympic Park, July 13-15, 2012
NBAF presents three days of unforgettable music and moments on that will have audiences dancing under the sun and grooving in the moonlight.  Live performances at the fill the air in the heart of downtown Atlanta with music, with children’s programming by day (Noon till 4PM) and family-friendly programming all every evening– Funky Friday, Soulful Saturday and Spiritual Sunday.  So come hang out with us for the entire weekend!  Free and Open to the Public.

The Publix Healthy Cooking Pavilion.  For the fifth year, local and international chefs will tantalize the taste-buds with food that is not only easy to prepare but is also healthy and well balanced. Featured chefs will offer free healthy cooking demonstrations, tastings and do-it-yourself tricks.

 

NBAF presents the 2012 National Black Arts Festival, July 6th through the 15th!  Renowned worldwide for showcasing the very best of black culture the Festival features art exhibitions, theater, music, and cultural programs for the entire family. We will also present the Coretta Scott King Awards Book Fair, Catch a Story: Kuumba in the Community and other free community events. Our annual NBAF Gala will honor legendary actress Ruby Dee and our first Teen Artists Awards Show will present the next generation of artists. The Festival’s centerpiece, NBAF@Centennial Olympic Park, opens Thursday, July 12 and closes Sunday, July 15 with the International Marketplace and three days of Classic and Nu Soul from the music stage.
