DETROIT - Woodlawn Post was invited to the prestigious Be Good To Yourself Tour with Seven Time Grammy Award Nominee Ledisi with special guest Eric Benet on Saturday July 28th and what better way to spend a Saturday night, other that being on the Detroit Riverfront at the popular Chene Park Amphitheater.

It was a beautiful night, with a great line-up and the venue was packed with fans expecting amazing performances and music from several talented  artist’s. The night kicked off with 2012 Grammy nominee Eric Benet to taking the stage.

Eric Benet @ebenet recently released his latest album The One on June 5th 2012 on his newly formed record label Jordan House Records, which he created in partnership with EMI. “Real Love” was the first single off The One.

The soulful Eric Benet sung “Chocolate Legs“, “Femininity“, “Pretty Baby“, “Real Love“, “Spend My Life With You” and “Georgy Porgy.” All to an energetic crowd at the Chene Park Amphitheater. The accomplished Eric Benet showed the Chene Park crowd how a great R & B performance is given as he sung hit song after hit song from his great catalogue of music and received several standing ovations.

The multiple Grammy nominated singer Ledisi @ledisi who has been described as having a mix of Tina Turner, Nina Simone, and Ella Fitzgerald took the stage the energy was great! Ledisi gave her Detroit fans anthems such as “Coffee“, “In The Morning“, “Higher Than This“, “Be Good To Yourself“, “Pieces of Me“, “Gonna Be Alright“, “Shut Up“, “So Into You“, “Stay Together“, “So The Way I Like It” and “Bravo.”

Overall, all the artist in their own way gave the audience something unique and a different version of what makes rhythm and blues special and all where well received. All have reached the pinnacle’s of success in their careers and on Saturday July 28th the Detroit audience payed them homage with energy and several standing ovations.

Each concert at Chene Park Amphitheater is packed with music fans, first class production, great performances and Saturday headliner’s did not disappoint. The staff, security, engineers and performer’s all collaborated to create an incredible environment for music fans and media alike to enjoy several insipiring performances at the popular Chene Park amphitheater.

For those interested in attending, Chene Park amphitheater @Chenepark is located along the banks of the Detroit river, just east of the General Motors world headquarters in Detroit, Michigan. Located at the foot of Chene Street, just east of Tri-Centennial State Park and Harbor, it is a 6,000-seat amphitheater where concerts are regularly scheduled every summer. Jazz, Classic Soul, Rhythm and Blues, R & B, HIP HOP, Gospel and more!
