The latest issue is themed “The Orgasms Issue.” The writers explore it all—from how exercise can increase a woman’s ability to orgasm to offering a how-to-guide on female ejaculation (Yes, women can do it too).
In the article, “Touch Yourself, Love Yourself,” Licensed Psychotherapist Renee Marie Adolphe says orgasms are not just sexual acts, “They are far more. Orgasms are about self-love, self-knowledge, and self-pleasure.”
In order for women to experience an orgasm, Adolphe says we must learn to put ourselves first.
“We take care of our children, we take care of our husbands, and we take care of our loved ones. Innately, we are nurturers and caregivers. We are conditioned to put others first and ourselves last. However, we need to apply these same qualities to ourselves for many reasons, including orgasmic well-being.”
Why are orgasms so important? Adolphe says there are many benefits, including:
Prevents cervical infections
Decreases insomnia through hormonal and tension release
Relieves pain and heals wounds, due to the surge of Oxytocin
Psychological and Emotional Benefits
Strengthens our relationship with others
Strengthens our sexual relationship with our partner
So how do you achieve an orgasm? Corset’s overall message to women: it all starts with first, looking at your body and complimenting yourself. Next, building a healthy relationship with yourself. And once your completely comfortable with who you are, finally, explore yourself.
