Murphy to join Magic’s scouting department
ORLANDO–
According to several sources,Rob Murphy, will join the scouting department of the Orlando Magic. With the college basketball season less
than two months away, the move comes as a surprise as last season was Murphy’s first as coach of Eastern Michigan. He led the Eagles to a 14-18 record and was named MAC coach of the year.
Magic General Manager Rob Hennigan fired the club’s entire six man scouting staff in late June.
Murphy spent seven seasons as an assistant coach under Jim Boeheim at Syracuse. He also was a an assistant at Kent State.
